Casey Grimes, Market Area President of the CBI Team’s Central Arkansas location in Little Rock recently helped Jim and Lisa Miller, owners of Miller Irrigation and Landscape Lighting sell their twenty-plus year-old business to a synergistic buyer, South River Capital, LLC. Mr. Grimes had previously sold another landscaping related business to one of the buying partners and thought he and his team would make the perfect buyer for the Miller’s business. Mr. Grimes met the Millers a few years before the sale and helped them prepare to take it to market by being sure it was properly valued and that they had everything in place to achieve the best value for it.
“Jim and Lisa Miller and the buyers were both a pleasure to work with and I am glad to see the legacy of the business continue with a younger and experienced team of buyers,” Grimes said also adding, “We sifted through many inquiries on the business to find the right buyer. Anytime we list an established, cash flowing, landscaping-related or service business we get a lot of interest.” Through the buyer search for Miller Irrigation and Landscape Lighting, Mr. Grimes and the CBI Team found other potential buyers for these types of businesses. “There can only be one buyer for each business we list for sale. If we list another business in the same or similar industry, we always go back to the buyers that inquired upon the first business we sold to see if they might have interest in the current business we have for sale,” Grimes said. Grimes and the CBI Team are now actively reaching out to Arkansas-based landscaping related and other service businesses to see if they’d like to sell. With a database of almost 10,000 buyers amassed from the 30 years of confidentially selling almost 900 businesses and counting, the CBI Team is always looking for good businesses to sell.
