Happy Friday the 13th to you (that’s the day I wrote this column.)
I published a weekly newspaper from 1974-1984 and it was a blast…but I couldn’t make any money in a small town competing against another established paper (read that, a “rag”).
I was blessed. I sold the newspaper to my competitor for a tidy sum and got out of the newspaper business.
Smart, huh?
Not really. I was just “lucky” to sell when the market was right and before the bottom fell out of the print newspaper business.
As Dirty Harry said, “Do you feel lucky,” or are you smart enough to begin planning for your exit before something changes and you lose your business to technology or some other event that’s out of your control?
I don’t like to depend on luck, but rather good exit planning.
Good exit planning can start by calling the CBI Team and meeting with one of our experienced, professional business brokers who can offer you a confidential, no-cost, no-obligation assessment of your business to determine if the business is in condition to sell.
Call CBI today at 877-582-5200 or email confidential@cbiteam.com
Don’t gamble your retirement away.
And that’s all I have to say about that……..
