As the prison warden said in the movie “Cool Hand Luke,” what we have here is a failure to communicate.”
I’m frustrated and I bet you are too, so here goes an old man rant.
Everyone has a cell phone, most with unlimited calls and text capabilities.
Yet so often when trying to contact someone we can’t talk with them, and many don’t acknowledge that they received a phone call.
They may receive the call, but most let it go to voicemail, particularly if they don’t recognize the phone number calling in.
However, some don’t even have voicemail set up so when you reach the number you’re trying to dial, you don’t know you’ve got the right person.
The same happens with texts. A text is sent but no response is forthcoming. Any kind of response is better than no response.
Emails may be going into a black hole because there is no reply to let the sender know the email was received.
Let’s use professional courtesy and provide SOME kind of response. Tell them “I got it” or simply send a reply or an emoji or tell them to go to hell, just something to let the sender know you aren’t dead.
And that’s all I have to say about that!
