Marty Buchanan
Personal Experience
Marty Buchanan is an accomplished executive and business leader who has made a positive impact on the many organizations he has worked for both as an employee and as a vendor. Having grown up in Morrilton, Arkansas and graduating from Hendrix College, Marty left his first professional job with Acxiom in Conway to pursue a career in advertising by moving to Memphis, Tennessee. While working for what is now Valassis in Memphis, Marty rose through the ranks and was chosen to lead the Chattanooga, Tennessee sales office.
Marty returned to Arkansas in order to care for his parents who had fallen ill. After a short time as a manufacturer’s representative, Marty returned to advertising and became the Director of Business Development for the nationally known firm, Ron Sherman Advertising. In this position, Marty worked with home improvement contractors throughout the country to develop advertising programs that would fuel the growth of his client’s business.
Marty now resides in Tontiown with his wife Sonja, who is an executive with Encompass Health. They have four grown children who are spread around the country. Marty enjoys taking advantage of the walking trails that run throughout Northwest Arkansas as well as relaxing with a good book by the pool.
