Dan Evans has joined the Fort Smith, Arkansas office of the CBI-Sunbelt Business Broker Network. Dan grew up in Fort Smith and has been in this area his entire adult life. After graduating from the University of Arkansas with a Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Accounting he began his career in the local furniture industry. Arkansas Best Corporation subsequently purchased that company and Dan was absorbed into their accounting department where he served as a controller for various subsidiaries before migrating into the subsidiary tire company that became known as Treadco, Inc, the largest independent commercial tire company in the United States with 62 locations. Dan served many years as Vice President of Administration and eventually as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. Treadco’s growth came primarily through acquiring other competing tire companies and one of Dan’s responsibilities was negotiating those acquisitions. Treadco, Inc was acquired by Goodyear with the formation of Wingfoot LLC. Dan served Wingfoot as Vice President of Operations and Vice President of Business Development.
Dan married his high school and college sweetheart, Michele Johnston, in 1969. They have two adult children, Lara Evans, a paralegal who resides in Tulsa and Elise Hayes, an attorney practicing in Norman, OK. Dan and Michele have a second residence in Cookson, OK where the family can convene when possible on weekends. Dan has served as President of the Board of Directors of Bost Human Development Services and advisory boards in the tire industry. Michele has served as President of the Junior League of Fort Smith and other advisory boards.
