Jon Holbert is Managing Partner of the CBI TEAM of Northwest Arkansas located in Springdale, Arkansas. He has been an involved with CBI since 2011 and has had great success helping his clients reach their goals. Jon has facilitated dozens of deals and fully understands how to facilitate the process of selling a business. Jon has over 35 years of business experience as an executive in multi-million dollar companies and as an owner/operator of several other successful businesses.

Jon developed an interest in business sales, including mergers and acquisitions after selling several companies he has owned and after participating in the sale of a large company he managed to a publicly held company. Jon says “I found I enjoyed selling companies more than working in them.” Jon’s broad knowledge of business allows him to serve businesses of all sizes and types and he finds all businesses interesting.  Jon holds an Arkansas Real Estate Sales license and can facilitate the real estate portion of a deal as well. His objective is to provide his clients with sound business advice and first class service while maintaining the highest level of professionalism and confidentiality.

Jon was born in Plainview, Texas and moved to Northwest Arkansas in 1992. He has three adult children, one granddaughter and another grand on the way. He resides with his wife DeLee on the White River below Beaver Dam.  His hobbies include fishing, shooting sporting clays and gunsmithing. Jon is a member of the International Business Brokers Association.

Before joining the CBI TEAM, John enjoyed a 30+ year career in the finance industry.  Starting from the ground up, he has experienced and successfully managed at all levels of the industry, from customer service and collections, lending and regulatory compliance, to analytics and business analysis.

As Vice President of Risk & Decision Management, John successfully managed over $1,000,000,000 in credit card lending, and developed successful custom predictive decision models in the process.  While most of their competition folded during “The Great Recession,” John led a team that successfully navigated those times to a prosperous outcome. As a lender he has handled transactions ranging from consumer loans in the hundreds of dollars, to commercial loans in the millions.

Born and raised in Fullerton, California, John is proud to call Arkansas “home”. He has lived in Fayetteville and been calling on those “Hogs” since 1993. In June 1985, John married his lovely bride, Lesley.  The Green family relocated to Arkansas in search of a better place to raise their children, which they found here in Northwest Arkansas. John and Lesley have three sons, two grown, and their youngest is attending school at John Brown University.  John and Lesley are very involved in serving their Grace Church of NWA community, and have a separate ministry serving the Gypsy community in the Ukraine.

Carol Miller Gresham has over 30 years of diversified experience in business ownership including, the sale of two highly successful companies which she founded. She has been involved in development, marketing, organizational leadership, education, healthcare, the non-profit world and philanthropy. Her work in higher education, real estate and health-care as well as the building of her own successful companies has created a full circle of experience.

Carol’s leadership skills, business and community involvement as well as volunteer leadership with state and national associations has created a network of business partners and friends across Arkansas and the United States. Carol has been a licensed real estate broker in Arkansas since 1986. She worked with apartment developers across the United States in providing market research and feasibility studies for potential new properties as well as selling existing ones.

Raised in Mountain Home, Arkansas since third grade, Carol is proud of her Arkansas roots. She is a graduate of Ouachita Baptist University. She is married to Rip Gresham, also an Arkansas native, entrepreneur and CPA. Together they have owned and operated businesses in Arkansas.

Carol says, “Because of my broad work background, I feel I have the ability to understand a variety of businesses, organizational structures and communities. Building strong working relationships is a natural because I am able to understand and relate to individual’s business situations and concerns.”

Paul Boss

Paul is a retired Military Officer who now works with CBI TEAM’s Northwest Arkansas office. By holding both insurance and real estate licenses, he is able to manage all services related to transferring business ownership or maximizing retirement after a sale.

Paul served in the 82nd Airborne Division during Grenada operation, the 18th Airborne Corps, various active and National Guard units, and Special Forces at the beginning of the War in Afghanistan. Outside of the military, Paul has worked primarily in the insurance industry. He has served small businesses with insurance and financial products as an advisor for Allied Financial Services, and he has served veterans and first responders through the Armed Forces Benefit Association. He founded Ozark Mountain Veterans in 2015 to help veterans utilize their skills and succeed in all areas of life, including starting & running successful businesses.

Paul earned a BA at the University of Arkansas and later did a MBA Certificate program with Tulane, which sparked his interest in buying and selling businesses. Having served many small business insurance needs over the years and helped the owners with retirement programs, it only seemed natural to help owners sell their businesses and successfully enter retirement.

Paul was born and raised in Arkansas. His hobbies include travel (which was extensive during his time in the military), hiking, biking, and other outdoor activities. He played collegiate and clubside rugby until he was 40- at which point he realized “it’s a young man’s sport.” Paul enjoys helping people and looks forward to helping you reach your goals.

Jeffrey Cantu is leading the practice sales division for the CBI TEAM from the Northwest, Arkansas office.  He has over ten years’ experience working with his wife’s dental practice in Fayetteville, Arkansas.

Before joining CBI TEAM, Jeffrey enjoyed a successful 24-year career as a District Sales Manager with General Motors.  Jeffrey has worked in many locations including Arkansas, Texas, Minnesota, and Michigan.  Jeffrey has experience with contractual buy/sell transactions and has facilitated several large dealership transitions.

Following the CBI TEAM’s proven process modeled on the Mayo Clinic approach to medicine, Jeffrey seeks to meet with and understand the needs of each prospective client and thencreate a personal and extensive marketing plan which confidentially markets the practice in multiple areas to find as many potential buyers as possible. Following CBI TEAM protocols, he then screens each potential buyer to determine the level of motivation and ability to purchase before disclosing the practice. Disclosure is only done after the buyer has been coached in the CBI TEAM process and provides a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) and other documentation to protect the seller’s information until the time is right. 

Jeffrey also utilizes the highly successful and proprietary CBI TEAM Loans4Business program designed to help buyers obtain multiple lending offers to facilitate the sale and create more cash for the practice or business owner. 

Jeffrey was born and raised in Kansas City where he attended the University of Central Missouri.  He lives with his wife, son, daughter and English Bulldog in Fayetteville, Arkansas.  He is involved with his community in a variety of local organizations, Youth Baseball, Ronald McDonald House, Boy Scouts, homeowners association and a local martial arts Dojang with his son and daughter.

As Business Manager, Kelly Tivis helps maintain the processes and procedures used by all CBI TEAM offices. He manages the Loans4Biz program, which provides buyers with a variety of competitive financing options for their business acquisitions. He also introduces franchise opportunities to clients who are interested in franchising.

Kelly joined the CBI TEAM in 2016 after experiencing the challenges and rewards of ownership and management of several family-owned businesses over a fifteen year period. During this time in his life, he and his family also helped found and develop a children’s home in Mexico. Before then, he worked for ten years for Electronic Data Systems as an Information Analyst.

Kelly and his wife have five children and six grandchildren. He enjoys camping, hiking and traveling.

Leland Eidson

Leland Eidson is CBI TEAM System Administrator and Closing Coordinator for the Northwest Arkansas Office. Working in the Northwest Arkansas Office since early 2014, he began his time with the company as a telemarketer. Displaying a passion for technology, and a keen eye for detail, Leland quickly began taking on new responsibilities in the office, as something of a “jack-of-all-trades”. In 2016 Leland was promoted to full-time system administrator and took over Closing Coordination duties for the NWA office in early 2018.

Before joining the CBI TEAM Leland had an extensive career in sales and business management. During this time he collected several sales awards, as well as developing management training programs that are still in use today. Additionally, Leland used this time to further his education earning a degree in computer science, as well as an A+ general information technology hardware certification.

Leland was born and raised in Springdale Arkansas, where he still resides. He is active in his community and has a passion for helping people. When not working, or volunteering, Leland enjoys camping, hiking, and competing in collectible card game tournaments. An avid self-styled super nerd, Leland has the knowledge and experience to provide the best possible service to CBI TEAM clients.

Carl Grimes

Carl Grimes sold a business in 1983, and that experience began his career selling business. However, before founding Confidential Business Intermediaries/The CBI TEAM in 1994, he published an award-winning newspaper, built and operated a state-of-the-art cable television system, owned a real estate firm, a retail catalog sales business and an abstract and title company. All these businesses were successfully sold and led Carl to the profession of full time business brokerage. He received the designation of Certified Business Intermediary (CBI) and Fellow of the IBBA from the International Business Brokers Association.

“Being a professional Business Intermediary requires extensive training and commitment to meeting the reasonable expectations of our clients, the owner of privately held businesses. It’s not a part time job, it’s a full time career,” Grimes said.

An Arkansas licensed real estate broker since 1982, Carl is also the president of the Professional Association of Arkansas Business Brokers.  Having handled transactions worth as little as $10,000 to as much as millions of dollars, Carl has been involved in the sale of over 700 businesses in his career as a professional business broker. His areas of specialty in business sales include print businesses, motorsports industry, title companies, cable television systems, renewable energy, retail stores, manufacturing, and restaurants.

Born and raised in Clarendon, Arkansas, Carl is proud to be a native “Arkansawyer”.  In 1971, Carl married his high school sweetheart, Kathy. In 1984, he started his first business in Northwest Arkansas.  Carl and Kathy have two grown sons, Casey and Connor, and daughters-in-law Loryn and Heather, and two grandsons, Greyson and Cache. Both sons have achieved a high level of success in the family business of CBI. Connor is the Owner of the CBI Central Arkansas office.

A graduate of the inaugural class of Leadership Fayetteville, a program conducted by the Fayetteville Chamber of Commerce, Carl has served as a city councilman, school board member, and a Chamber of Commerce president. A member of New Heights Church in Fayetteville, Carl has also served as an elder, a deacon, and a Sunday School teacher.
